Answering the Call

Monday, March 14th, 2011

The newspaper article shown in the photograph above was from the March 12th, 2011, Harrisburg Patriot News.  It highlighted the unusual request made of Smith Printing.  The Mayor of Harrisburg needed flood information packets to distribute to Harrisburg residents on the even of a large flooding event.  The problems were that the city had no packets in inventory, nor the funds to produce more.  So the request was made and Smith Printing answered the call.

QR Codes are Here!

Friday, October 22nd, 2010

The internet is going mobile — moving from the computer screen to the cell phone screen. QR codes have been designed to take advantage of this trend and David A. Smith Printing, Inc. is here to help to implement this newest advertising solution. It is simple, download the necessary software to any smart phone (search QR Reader), point at one and you are connected to a website, message, phone number, email address, video, the possibilities are endless. You can save & tag the bar codes (like bookmarking on your computer).  As the smart phone becomes the de facto technology of the masses, companies, such as yours, will begin to market to the mobile crowd using QR codes (also known as Matrix or 2D codes). QR codes will boost print advertising and blend the offline world with the online world. You now see QR codes in newspaper and magazine ads, posters and “For Sale” signs. For more information on how we can help you with this technology contact us at 717.564.3719.
